Quick Links:  Crisis Services

Westchester youngsters with emotional disturbance who need inpatient care are served by several kinds of facilities:  community hospitals with psychiatric inpatient units; private hospitals providing only psychiatric services in the county; and Rockland Children's Psychiatric Center, a New York State facility in Rockland County which provides intermediate and long term care for youngsters referred by Westchester Medical Center or another hospital.  The youngest age admitted is at the discretion of each hospital.  At some hospitals, admission is contingent on the individual case.  Crisis services are provided by Westchester Medical Center through its Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program and mobile crisis teams [click here].
