Throughout the year, we sponsor a variety of special events, fundraisers, and respite opportunities.
Please join us!

January:
Family Ties will be offering a six-week Parent Skills Training course beginning on January 24th.  The course uses the Boy's Town Common Sense Parenting curriculum and teaches techniques for reducing problem behaviors, setting goals and expectations, and creating consequences and appropriate discipline.  Parents will receive a certification upon completion.  For more information, please contact your nearest resource center.
 

March:
Come and see Family Ties present at the Westchester Disabled on the Move conference on March 10th!  The conference will focus on the successes of Westchester individuals with disabilities.  Time and location is yet to be determined.  For more information, please call (914) 995-5238.
 

TBA:
Family Ties welcomes Dixie Jordan, acclaimed author and parent advocate, to Westchester County.  Jordan will be talking with parents about IDEA and how to navigate the special education process.  For more information, please call (914) 995-5238.

In December 2004, Family Ties staff and grandparents attended the Federation of Families conference in Washington D.C.  They will be presenting what they learned at the Regional Meeting of Family Support Organizations.  For more information, please call (914) 995-4812.
 

Semi-Annual Overnight Retreat (for mothers and grandmothers)
Twice a year, Family Ties offers a special overnight retreat just for moms at the Clearpool facility in Carmel, NY.  October's trip is scheduled for 2nd-3rd.  Transportation is provided.  Availability is limited, please reserve in advance.

Ossining Resource Center Grand Opening
Please join us on October 8th at our newest Resource Center in Ossining for a Grand Opening Celebration.  Our new site, in partnership with Ossining Open Door, is located at 173 Main Street, 2nd floor.  Our Grand Opening Open House will be from 3-7pm.

Mount Kisco Resource Center Grand Opening
Family Ties invites you to come celebrate the Grand Opening of our Mount Kisco Resource Center at 344 Main Street, lower level.  We will be hosting a Grand Opening Open House from 3-7.  Please join us!

Champions of Children Annual Dinner
We will be holding our first Annual Dinner in honor of outstanding advocates for children and their mental health needs.  The benefit is scheduled for November 10th, 2004.  Tickets are available for $60.
